A Room Fit for a Teen

by admin on April 4, 2012

I was hired to do a room makeover for a young teenager who is now in high school and needs her teenage look and work space to do homework. We came up with the idea of a chalk board wall as seen above. Gabi and her girlfriends did a great job decorating it with color chalk!!

I added a shelf over her desk for easy access to her printer and books. The window treatment is Duralee Fabric in creams and dove grey colors which we used to cover the door that went into a private study. She can open it during the day to let light inside the room too.

We repainted a book shelf that holds neat fabric baskets and a mirror in an eggplant color which goes great with the cream, grey, and black colors in the room.

She also loves her zebra artwork which pulls together the colors and makes the room modern.

We definitely came a long way from the ‘before’ room:

Teen, Gabi in her room before the transformation. There comes a time in a girl’s life when the pink has to go!
