Valerie and I at a shop in Denmark

This season, I am reminded of all the different and fabulous ways the world celebrates the holidays. The pictures above were taken a few years ago when Valerie and I donned our cozy furs and ventured into the Scandinavian culture. Below are some fantastic interiors inspired by the holidays in Sweden.

Christmas Memory Book

Christmas is so close and I get to pull out my favorite holiday tradition, my “Christmas Memories Book”. Since the first entry, this has become the biggest hit amongst the family. They make great gifts too!

Holiday Gift Baskets

by admin on December 17, 2011

With less than 8 days left until Christmas, my holiday traditions are in full swing. These are gift baskets I make each year for clients and friends— the mailman, garbage man, cleaners and all the people I work with all year long.

I use special family recipes: Home made caramel, fudge, rum balls, magic bars, Christmas cut-out cookies,  M&M cookies and Mint Surprise cookies which are my favorite.

I also include homemade banana bread, and this year I’ve canned my own cranberry mustard sauce and pickles. If you have time this weekend, it’s definitely worth the effort. Everyone loves that my gifts are homemade instead of store-bought!

Holiday Rooms for Little Boys

To continue on decorating for the holidays, here’s what I put together for my son, Garrett one Christmas season. The theme: dogs in the snow— he was delighted!

Holiday Rooms for Little Girls

When you have little ones, the holidays are the best time to decorate to make the season extra special. I used to put together mini Christmas trees in each of the kids’ rooms and personalized the decorations. In Adrianna’s room pictured here, I focused on her favorites: art supplies, angels and other charming things that would make any little girl’s day brighter.
