Halloween is Here! Are you Ready?

Halloween Is Here! One of my favorite holidays to get creative.. Enjoy these fun ideas you can create for your party.

Skull Decor
Skulls fill this creepy dining room decorated by RMSer who chose a black-and-white theme. She topped a gauze table runner with a delicate branch centerpiece that holds skull tea lights. The skull theme is carried through to the buffet table, featuring black candelabras and a mummy skeleton.

Pumpkin Planter
A variation on the classic orange-and-black Halloween decor, a silver planter filled with painted pumpkins makes a stylish display to welcome trick-or-treaters. Submitted by HGTV fan mlively.

A Succulent Dinner Party
Host a lush dinner party with a vampire theme. It started with a black velvet tablecloth and dressed it up with dark red accents. To resemble blood, Courtney hung cloth napkins from the table and added red drip candles on top of antique black candleholders.

The Perfect Pumpkin
Fool guests with this faux pumpkin that mirrors the size, color and texture of an actual pumpkin, and is complete with a spider carving

Sweet & Salty Popcorn Mix
With a few basic ingredients, you can whip up this endlessly munchable snack in minutes. Add a Halloween twist by mixing in candy corn and orange and black sprinkles or nonpareils.

Get Ready to Throw a Monster Mash
This Halloween, get the kids together for a fun costume party. With our ideas for easy DIY party decorations, tasty treats, printable party decorations and no-sew costume tutorials, hosting a costume party is a snap. So what are you waiting. Have fun this Halloween.

Bumgarner Are Hero, Leads San Francisco to Third Title in Five Years

World Series 2014: Giants Beat Royals in Game 7

A little History on the San Francisco Giants, who started play in 1883 as the New York Gothams and moved to California 75 years later. The Giant’s 3rd World Series in the last five years and their eighth over all dating back to 1905.
They beat the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, in Game 7 at Kauffman Stadium and became the first team in 35 years to win a Game 7 on the road. They also joined the Boston Red Sox as the only teams to win three World Series in the 21st century.

giant MVP
None of it would have been possible without Madison Bumgarner, the brilliant 25-year-old left-hander who wrote his name into World Series and Game 7 lore with another performance for the ages.

The room was lovely. It was very spacious and I loved the bathroom with the outdoor shower. The staff cleaned the room twice a day so it was kept immaculate.

It was great to be greeted on arrival by the friendly and helpful staff.  On the way to the hotel we were given cold towels and a cold bottle of water which were a relief from the humidity. We were also given delicious coconut sorbet upon arrival at the hotel.  I read reviews about hearing the planes, so I was a little worried about this. However there were not many planes flying over, we couldn’t even hear the planes from inside the room.

The amenities provided are as described on their website. In fact the sky-open bathrooms are wonderful. They have 5-6 restaurants on the island – one serving Japanese, one Arabic, one all-day Cafe, one offering Continental, etc. which is more than expected. The whole property is very well kept and the layout is such that it does not feel crowded despite being quite full. The staff are always smiling and extremely courteous, be it the restaurant staff or the housekeeping staff or the other maintenance staff. They have two pools which are very well maintained. The housekeeping is extremely efficient with a turn-down service in the evening. Requests for extra tea, coffee, towels, etc are promptly attended to. Extra beach towels and slippers are a big plus. Snorkeling in the house reef is quite good. Snorkeling equipment is provided free during the duration of your stay and free snorkeling training is also provided. Various activities like trip to Male, island tour, spa treatment, various water sports, diving, etc are available on payment basis. Entertainment like music (jazz, painting, artisans doing lacquer work) etc are organized daily for the guests.

Amazing spa treatments

Beautiful Napa Wedding!

by admin on September 5, 2014

I was in Napa for Labor Day weekend to attend an amazing wedding and stay in the Napa River Inn which was lovely. We could easily walk a few blocks and see the damage from the earthquake from Saturday, August 23rd. The town has bounced back quickly as 85% of the business were up and running which was wonderful to see. Here’s a building that had major damage that destroyed a car that was parked in the parking lot!

This is a picture of me and my sister Karen, mother of the bride, who put such special  details into the whole evening, seen through the wedding, program fans, menus, name tags, and table placemats from different places in the world.  Her keen eye and immaculate attention to detail was stunning, what a talent she has!!!
